The Themes of the Final Part

In what follows, in the final part of Sūrat al-Baqarah, in the verses that remain, certain major themes are treated.

The first reinforces that Islam is the true religion. The second speaks of what it is to be truly human, an insān. The third is a great discussion of spending in the path of Allah (swt) — that being, as has been said, the means by which our dīn and the people of our dīn remain firm and strong. Money is needed. It matters. It has only to be done in the right way and placed in the right hands. Then it treats of brotherhood and sisterhood. It treats of love. It treats of excellence, of goodness and of the beautifying of things, and above all of the dīn.

Indeed there is nothing — and one has already seen how much has been treated in two juzʾ, and will see how much more is treated hereafter — over which one would be left scratching one's head to find it absent from the Qur'an in one way or another, whether particularly or in a general sense. And in shāʾ Allāh we are here to try to understand it. Whatever is of goodness is mentioned in the Qur'an.
