From Themes to Rulings

The second juzʾ of the Qur'an becomes far more comprehensive in its treatment of specific rulings and aḥkām governing life — social, familial and individual. The arrangement is near enough perfect: the first juzʾ sets the scene by way of introduction, and the second supplies the particulars. It reads like a manual.
