Islam Academy (islam.academy) offers free Islamic courses for personal study. By using the site you agree to these terms.
Your account
Accounts are free. Keep your password to yourself, and give an email address that is yours. You can ask us to delete your account at any time through the contact page or by writing to contact.islam.academy@gmail.com. We may close an account that is used to misuse the site.
The courses
The lessons are drawn from the teaching of the scholars and authors named with each course, prepared as written chapters and narrations. Each course’s Sources and Bibliography page says where it comes from. Islam Academy is independent, and the courses have not been reviewed or endorsed by those scholars or their institutions. Where a lesson notes that a figure or attribution differs from the sources, that note is ours.
Learning, not rulings
The courses are offered for learning, in good faith. Nothing on the site is a fatwa or a religious ruling on your own circumstances, and it is no substitute for personal guidance from a qualified scholar. We do not issue fatwas. For a question about Islam, please ask qualified scholars; you can put your question at fatwacentre.org/ask-a-question.
Using the material
You are welcome to read, listen to and share links to the lessons. Please do not copy the courses wholesale, republish them as your own, or sell them. Short quotations with a link back to the lesson are fine.
Reviews
If you review a course, the review must be your own honest opinion, and must not be abusive, hateful, misleading, promotional, or break anyone else’s rights. You keep the rights in what you write, and you give Islam Academy a free, non-exclusive, worldwide permission to show it on the site, with your first name and the initial of your last name, and to shorten it or correct obvious typing mistakes without changing its meaning. We check reviews before they appear, and we may decline or remove any review, for example one that breaks these terms or is not about the course. You can ask us to remove your review at any time.
Contacting us
You can reach us through the contact page or at contact.islam.academy@gmail.com. Please don’t use the contact form to send spam, advertising or abuse. We read every message, but we cannot promise to answer every one, and we do not answer requests for fatwas.
Other websites, books and donations
The site links to other websites: the scholars’ own lectures, their institutions, publishers and booksellers, and organisations that take donations. Those sites are run by others, under their own terms, and we are not responsible for them. We receive nothing from these links, from any book you buy or from any donation you make: donations go directly to the organisation you choose, and Islam Academy itself takes no money.
Availability
We work to keep the site running and accurate, but it is provided as it is, and we may change or remove material. We are not liable for loss arising from use of the site, so far as the law allows.
