His Manner in Waiting for It

Consider these verses, and the manner in which the Prophet (peace be upon him) conducted himself. He wished the Qiblah to be changed, yet he never once prayed for it, never sought it or asked Allah (swt) for it. He only watched in expectation, raising his gaze to the heavens.

The reason may well be that he did not wish to ask for something which Allah (swt) intended to remain otherwise. Had Allah wished it to remain towards Bayt al-Maqdis, and he had asked for something different — that is a question of the adab a man owes to his superior, and to his Lord. In this one sees the ḥusn al-adab of the Prophet (peace be upon him), his beautiful akhlāq with Allah (swt).
