A Tree on the Shore
Yūnus was brought out of the stomach of the whale and delivered safely to the shore. But he had no skin to protect him from the rays of the sun; he had no skin to protect him from the wind. So Allah (swt) delivered him to the shore, and then commanded a tree to grow over Yūnus, to give him cover and shade, and to give him food.
۞ فَنَبَذْنَـٰهُ بِٱلْعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٌ وَأَنۢبَتْنَا عَلَيْهِ شَجَرَةً مِّن يَقْطِينٍ
“Then We cast him ashore in the open while he was ill, and We caused a tree of ourds to grow over him.” (37:145–146)
Allah (swt) says that He caused a tree of yaqṭīn to grow over him.
