Who Is the Lord of the Worlds?

Firʿawn said: and who is the Lord of the worlds? Who is He? Who are you talking about? Who is your Lord? Mūsā said: the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you seek to be convinced with certainty. Mūsā is speaking seriously. He is saying: Allah is the Lord of the heavens and the earth.

Firʿawn wants to turn it into a joke and entertainment, so he started making fun of Mūsā: he said to those around him, do you not hear? He is starting to make a fool of Mūsā, mocking Mūsā (peace be upon him). Mūsā did not respond to that; he was not sidetracked. Mūsā continued and said: He is your Lord, and the Lord of your forefathers before you.

Now Firʿawn got angry. He said: the messenger who has been sent to you is crazy. Now he is getting serious and angry, and he is accusing Mūsā of insanity. Mūsā did not respond to that either, and he continued. Look at the dāʿiyah: He is the Lord of the east and the west and everything between them, if you have any understanding.

And this is an important lesson of daʿwah: do not defend your own self in daʿwah. We will be talking with somebody, giving them the message, and they will attack us, and we will start defending our own selves. We get into the conversation and the debate of defending ourselves. Firʿawn starts accusing him, and Mūsā continues with the signs of Allah.
