The Winds, and Water You Could Not Store

Allah then points to certain truly important matters. He says that We have sent the winds; and We have also caused water to descend from the heavens. Fa-asqaynākumūh: and We have given you to drink of it. Wa mā antum lahu bi-khāzinīn: it is not something you could have stored.

Consider only that one example. What is the storage of water that Allah (swt) should say you could not have stored so much of it? We have the oceans full of water, the seas and the rest. But how is it to be taken from place to place? That is an immense feat of irrigation to accomplish. And what does Allah do? He lets it evaporate. He uses the sun; it evaporates, forms into clouds, and He drives the clouds wherever He would have it rain; and there it rains. That is thousands upon thousands of litres or gallons of water drawn up and carried to wherever Allah wishes to give fertility, and there it goes. That is why Allah (swt) says that you have no such storing capacity.

Wa innā la-naḥnu nuḥyī wa numīt: and We are the ones who give life and who give death. Wa naḥnu al-wārithūn: and We are the inheritors as well; everything will be left to Us.
