Mud in the Mouth of Firʿawn

Jibrīl (peace be upon him) came to Muhammad (peace be upon him) and said: if you had only seen me when Firʿawn was drowning, and I was stuffing his mouth with mud, so that the mercy of Allah would not come upon him. Look at this — not only did Mūsā hate Firʿawn, but even Jibrīl. Jibrīl said that he was stuffing dirt into the mouth of Firʿawn. When he saw that Firʿawn wanted to say lā ilāha illā Allāh, he started stuffing the dirt into his mouth, so that mercy would not come upon this man.

You can see that this man was unbelievable. He was such a tyrant that Mūsā made a duʿāʾ like that against him — O Allah, do not guide him — and that Jibrīl (peace be upon him), the angel who would come with al-waḥy from Allah (swt) to the anbiyāʾ, was stuffing dirt into his mouth so that he could not speak. That is how bad the tyranny of Firʿawn was.
