Do Not Fear: You Are the Higher

Next, a point of great emotional weight is verse 67, at the moment when he was challenged by the magicians. Imagine a vast host of magicians ranged before you, and you a single individual. The verse is very clear; it says of Mūsā (peace be upon him), in verse 67:

He felt fear in his heart: how am I to do this? And then — and this is to teach all of us a lesson for when we are confronted by a difficult task — qulnā lā takhaf innaka anta al-aʿlā. When Allah is with you, behind you: We said to him, do not fear, you shall be elevated, you shall be uppermost — you shall prevail. Then He told him what to do.

Whenever you find yourself in that situation, then, do not be anxious; call upon Allah (swt) — yā Rabbī, yā Rabbī, yā Allāh, yā Laṭīf — and in shāʾ Allāh, Allah will help you. There is nothing wrong in having fear in the heart; but when that fear comes, turn to Allah (swt).
