In Their Stories Is a Lesson
لَقَدْ كَانَ فِى قَصَصِهِمْ عِبْرَةٌ لِّأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ ۗ مَا كَانَ حَدِيثًا يُفْتَرَىٰ وَلَـٰكِن تَصْدِيقَ ٱلَّذِى بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَتَفْصِيلَ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ
“Surely, in the narratives of these, there is a lesson for the people of understanding. It is not an invented story, rather, a confirmation of what has been before it, and an elaboration of everything, and guidance and mercy for a people who believe.” (12:111)
We're done with the lives of the anbiyāʾ of Allah (swt). And Allah (swt) has placed for us, in the lives of the anbiyāʾ of Allah (swt), ʿibrah. And again, we need to remember: what is the purpose of these stories? It is laqad kāna fī qaṣaṣihim ʿibrah. Allah (swt) says: in their stories are lessons — ʿibrah, lessons for you.
We ask Allah (swt) to make us of those who would follow the lessons of the anbiyāʾ of Allah (swt). We ask Allah (swt) to accept our deeds of coming here and talking about the anbiyāʾ of Allah (swt). And we ask Allah to make us of those who would love the anbiyāʾ, and be resurrected with them on the Day of Judgement. We ask Allah (swt) to make us of those who love — deeply love, sincerely love — the anbiyāʾ of Allah (swt).
