An Enemy and a Grief
فَٱلْتَقَطَهُۥٓ ءَالُ فِرْعَوْنَ لِيَكُونَ لَهُمْ عَدُوًّا وَحَزَنًا ۗ إِنَّ فِرْعَوْنَ وَهَـٰمَـٰنَ وَجُنُودَهُمَا كَانُوا۟ خَـٰطِـِٔينَ
“So the family of Pharaoh picked him up, so that he becomes for them an enemy and a (cause of) grief. Indeed Pharaoh, Hāmān and their armies were mistaken.” (28:8)
This is the plan of Allah. Allah (swt) says: then the household of Firʿawn picked him up, so that he would become for them an enemy and a cause of grief. Allah (swt) has a plan: Allah wanted them to pick up Mūsā so that he would be a grief to them, and their enemy. And how could that work out? We have no way of understanding, because this is a mystery of the omnipotence of Allah (swt) and His qudrah, His power. How could Mūsā end up being a grief to Firʿawn when he was going to be raised in Firʿawn's palace?
