Those Upon Whom Allah Bestowed Favour
Verse 58 is of particular interest, and is itself a verse of prostration:
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ مِن ذُرِّيَّةِ ءَادَمَ وَمِمَّنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوحٍ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّةِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَمِمَّنْ هَدَيْنَا وَٱجْتَبَيْنَآ ۚ إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ خَرُّوا۟ سُجَّدًا وَبُكِيًّا ۩
“Those are the people whom Allah has blessed with bounties, the prophets from the progeny of ’Ādam, and of those whom We caused to board (the Ark) along with NūH, and from the progeny of Ibrāhīm and Isrā’īl (Jacob), and from those whom We guided and selected. When the verses of The RaHmān (The All-Merciful) were recited before them, they used to fall down in Sajdah (prostration), while they were weeping.” (19:58)
These are the prophets upon whom Allah bestowed favour, of the progeny of Ādam (peace be upon him); and of those carried with Nūḥ (peace be upon him); and of the progeny of Ibrāhīm and of Isrāʾīl. Isrāʾīl is Yaʿqūb (peace be upon him), who had twelve sons, from whom descend the twelve tribes — Levi and the rest. And of those whom Allah guided and chose. The verse concludes by describing how they would fall prostrate when the revelation was recited to them.
