Truth Has Come

Then the famous verse, which is found at 81:

Wa qul jāʾa al-ḥaqqu wa zahaqa al-bāṭil — wa qul jāʾa al-ḥaqqu wa zahaqa al-bāṭil, inna al-bāṭila kāna zahūqā. When the truth comes, the bāṭil generally dissipates. But the truth has to come in the right way. This verse is often quoted, and it is worth pointing out where it stands.

There is also the discussion of the rūḥ: the one where it is asked what the spirit is, what this rūḥ is. The Jews had this question, or rather they gave the question to the people of Makkah, and the people of Makkah asked it. So this was one of the questions; and another of the questions was who Dhū al-Qarnayn is. Allah (swt) answers that one; and here He says that you have been given only a little knowledge. It is from the command of my Lord, but you have been given only a little knowledge. Some of the mufassirīn have explained, or tried to explain, that this is the little knowledge; while others have taken it that you cannot understand it. And the other interpretation is that this was being said to the people of Makkah, or to the Jews: that you do not have enough knowledge about this, whereas We have been given the knowledge of it. So there are various opinions about this.
