The Way of Ibrāhīm

At the end of the chapter, to close it, the discussion of Ibrāhīm (peace be upon him) is brought forward again. Ibrāhīm (peace be upon him) is always brought forward, being the perfect archetype of whom Allah (swt) speaks on account of his tawḥīd — the monotheism he practised and expressed, and which has been left to us. And that is why the Prophet (peace be upon him) has been told to follow Ibrāhīm (peace be upon him). And again that theme of the bounties is brought in there: that Ibrāhīm (peace be upon him) was always thankful and grateful for his bounties. Hence the Prophet (peace be upon him) is told, in verse 123:

Then We have inspired you that you must follow the way of Ibrāhīm (peace be upon him), the dīn of Ibrāhīm, the dīn of Ibrāhīm (peace be upon him), who was an absolute monotheist and was not of the mushrikīn.
