Follow What Is Revealed, and Be Patient
Since the sūrah opened, as noted, with the Qur'an, the Qur'an is once more a major theme at its close. Allah says, from verse 104 to the end:
قُلْ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِن كُنتُمْ فِى شَكٍّ مِّن دِينِى فَلَآ أَعْبُدُ ٱلَّذِينَ تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَـٰكِنْ أَعْبُدُ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِى يَتَوَفَّىٰكُمْ ۖ وَأُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
“Say, “O people, if you are in doubt about my Faith, then, I do not worship those whom you worship beside Allah. Rather, I worship Allah who brings death to you. And I have been ordained to be among the believers,” (10:104)
The whole of this passage is given over to it, and the final verse is:
وَٱتَّبِعْ مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَيْكَ وَٱصْبِرْ حَتَّىٰ يَحْكُمَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلْحَـٰكِمِينَ
“Follow what is being revealed to you, and be patient until Allah gives His judgment, and He is the best of all judges.” (10:109)
Follow what has been inspired to you, revealed to you — the Qur'an; follow that. And wa-ṣbir: wa-ṣbir, wa-ṣbir, wa-ṣbir, to be borne in mind always. Ṣabr, ṣabr, ṣabr. People do not wish to practise ṣabr; people do not wish to be patient. They would rather bend, and simply acquiesce. But no: there will be difficulty. It is part of life, part of the world, especially for a believer — until the judgement of Allah comes. He is the best of judges. He is the best of judges.
With this the sūrah ends. We ask Allah (swt) for acceptance; we ask Him to grant us the good of what we have learnt and recited, and to let it reinvigorate our īmān continually.
