Juz 15: Al-Isrāʾ to Al-Kahf 74
Section 4 of 18 · Tafsir of the Qur’an · Mufti Abdul Rahman Mangera
Guidance and Warning in the Quran
The Quran transitions from discussing Bani Israel's history to presenting itself as guidance for humanity. This section establishes the purpose of the Quran and emphasizes individual accountability:
“Surely, this Quran guides to what is most upright, and gives good news to the believers who do righteous deeds that for them there is a great reward.”
The description of the Quran as guiding to "what is most upright" (لِلَّتِى هِىَ أَقْوَمُ) indicates its comprehensive perfection in directing humanity to the straightest and most balanced path in all matters of faith, morality, and social conduct. This guidance is not merely theoretical but leads to practical righteousness, which in turn earns believers a "great reward" (أَجْرًا كَبِيرًا).
In contrast to this positive message of guidance, Allah (swt) delivers a warning to those who reject faith in the Hereafter:
“And for those who do not”
