A Sound Entrance and a Sound Exit

Allah (swt) told the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) to recite the following duʿāʾ, and this is an ayah in Sūrat al-Isrāʾ.

So to cause him to enter a sound entrance is to go to Madīnah, and to exit a sound exit is to leave Makkah. And to grant him from Himself a supporting authority is because Allah (swt) is teaching the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) that this religion is supported by authority. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) says that Allah (swt) sometimes supports this religion through authority in ways that the Qurʾān alone cannot support the religion, and that is why Khilāfah was a very important concept to the Muslims. In fact, the Ṣaḥābah met to decide the issue of Khilāfah before they buried the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), as mentioned in the account of Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq, may Allah be pleased with him.
