Established for a Lifetime
The fourth benefit lies in obeying the commandment of Allah (swt) in Sūrat al-Baqarah, the third verse, where He says:
ٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْغَيْبِ وَيُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَـٰهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ
“who believe in the Unseen, and are steadfast in Salāh (prayer), and spend out of what We have provided them;” (2:3)
Those Muslims whom Allah describes here are the ones who establish and uphold ṣalāh throughout their lives. This is one description of a believer — one who upholds prayer, establishing it regularly until the end of life — and it is in itself a blessing and a further commandment fulfilled whenever the daily prayers are performed.
