6. Pharaoh's Persecution and Divine Signs of Punishment

Following the magicians' conversion, Pharaoh's persecution of Musa (peace be upon him) and the Israelites intensified. Rather than reflecting on the miraculous signs presented to him, Pharaoh became more obstinate in his rejection and more severe in his tyranny. He feared that the growing influence of Musa's message might undermine his authority which was built on claims of divinity.

The Children of Israel had already been subjected to severe oppression, being used as slave labor for construction projects including the pyramids. Pharaoh had reduced them to a state of servitude and hardship. When Musa came with his message of liberation, Pharaoh's response was to increase their burdens and threaten even more severe consequences.
