Eleven Responses to the Daʿwah

What was the response of the people of Quraysh to the daʿwah of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)? They responded in various different ways, and some of them were at different times, and some might have been stages, but these are the different responses that the people of Quraysh showed towards the message of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). There is a list of them. Number one, mockery. Number two, insulting and harming the Messenger. Number three, accusations, or character assassination. Number four, deforming or defaming the message. Number five, bargaining and negotiating with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). Number six, permits and temptations. Number seven, setting challenges. Number eight, putting the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) under pressure. Number nine, jealousy and hatred. Number ten, persecution. And eleven, assassination attempts. The first of these, mockery, follows below, inshāʾAllāh.
