The Miracles of Badr

Some of the miracles that occurred at Badr, then: the reducing of numbers in sight, as already described; the rain; the deep sleep the night before the battle; the descent of the angels; Umayyah ibn Khalaf, because the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) had said that he would be killed, and his prophecy was fulfilled; the sword of ʿUkkāshah, who had a wooden sword, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) held it, and it turned into a real sword — another miracle; the killing of the leaders of disbelief exactly where the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) had said, before the battle, that each would be killed — this one here, that one there, another there — and they were killed exactly in the spots pointed out by the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him); and the eye of Qatādah, whose eye fell out of its socket, and was only hanging by the nerve, so that the Companions were about to cut it, when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) told them not to, and himself held the eye, placed it back in its socket, and wiped it — Qatādah would say that the eye became stronger than his other eye, and that is a miracle of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). Add to these his knowing the whereabouts of the money of al-ʿAbbās, and his revealing the assassination plot that ʿUmayr ibn Wahb was planning. All of these are miracles that happened at Badr; the Qur'an is the greatest miracle of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), but he was given so many physical miracles, many more than perhaps any other prophet. A word on the miracles of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him): most of the miracles of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) occurred in the context of jihād, and most of the karāmāt of the awliyāʾ of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, also occur in the context of jihād. So really, jihād is where the karāmāt happen.
