Ḥārithah, and the Reckoning of the Dead

Ḥārithah, may Allah be pleased with him, was killed by friendly fire.^***** When the battle was over and his mother met with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), she said: tell me whether Ḥārithah is in Paradise, so that I'll be happy, or if he's not, then I'll cry for him. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) told her: have you gone crazy? There are plenty of gardens in Paradise, and your son has earned the very highest of them — your son is in the highest level of Jannah, al-Firdaws al-Aʿlā.^****** Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has prepared exclusively for the mujāhidīn a hundred levels on top of al-Jannah, the distance between any two of them like the distance between heaven and earth. Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says:

And already had Allah given you victory at Badr while you were weak — meaning few in number — then fear Allah, perhaps you will be grateful.

The death toll: seventy mushrikīn were killed and seventy were taken prisoners of war. Among the Muslims, no prisoners of war whatsoever, and there were fourteen deaths — six from among the Muhājirūn, six from among the Khazraj, and two from among the Aws.
