The Third Objective: Protecting the World From Corruption

The third objective is protecting the world from corruption. So rather than fighting fī sabīlillāh being a cause of corruption, it is a protection for the world; it prevents corruption. The āyāt of Allah straighten out the misconceptions that we have. They clear them, because Satan is causing us to misunderstand reality. He makes us think that good is evil and evil is good. He has that ability of deceiving; that is the whole point of his being the devil — to deceive people, and to make al-maʿrūf munkar and al-munkar maʿrūf. So the āyāt of the Qurʾān undo the corruption that is caused in our minds by the waswasah of shayṭān. The āyāt of the Qurʾān cleanse our hearts from the corruption that is caused by the media and by the false authority that exists on earth. So Allah (swt) is telling us that jihād fī sabīlillāh actually limits the corruption that exists on land. Allah (swt) says:

Were it not for Allah checking some people by means of others, the earth would have been corrupted, but Allah is full of bounty to the worlds.
