A Thousand Prayers in Any Other Masjid

There are some virtues of Masjid al-Nabawī. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) says, in the hadith narrated by al-Bukhārī: ṣalātun fī masjidī hādhā afḍalu min alfi ṣalātin fīmā siwāhu illā al-Masjid al-Ḥarām — one ṣalāh in my masjid is better than a thousand ṣalāh in any other masjid, except al-Masjid al-Ḥarām, the Kaʿbah. This means that if you pray one ʿIshāʾ, for example, in Masjid al-Nabawī, it counts as if you had prayed ʿIshāʾ for eighty-three years in any other masjid. So if you were praying ʿIshāʾ every evening in another masjid for eighty-three years, that counts as one ʿIshāʾ in Masjid al-Nabawī. That is how much blessing there is in praying in Masjid al-Nabawī.

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) says: you should not travel to visit a masjid except if it is one of three masjids — al-Masjid al-Ḥarām, the Kaʿbah; al-Masjid al-Aqṣā in Jerusalem; and this masjid of mine, Masjid al-Nabawī. And the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) says: between my house and my pulpit is a garden from among the gardens of Paradise, and my pulpit is on my pool, al-Kawthar, the pool that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) will be given on the Day of Judgment — and this is in al-Bukhārī.
