Claims, Deeds, and an Empty Campground

So Ḥudhayfah here is telling this man: well, this was our situation, so you need to ask yourself again whether you would have fought alongside the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) heroically. You're saying that now, years later. Only Allah would know what would happen if you were there at that difficult moment, whether you would have been with the munāfiqīn or with the muʾminīn. So we should try to avoid making all these big claims of what we can do and how we're going to give victory to Islam. Just do it. Don't talk about it; do it. That's our problem today: everybody is proposing a solution, everybody is saying that he is going to do this and do that for the religion, and nothing gets done.

Now Ghaṭafān and Quraysh just left; that's it. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) wakes up the next day in the morning and takes a look at the empty campground: no one's left. Quraysh and Ghaṭafān have left as if there was no Aḥzāb. So the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, Lā ilāha illā Allāhu waḥdah, ṣadaqa waʿdah, wa naṣara ʿabdah, wa hazama al-aḥzāba waḥdah: "There is no one worthy of worship except Allah. His promise came true, and He gave victory to His servant, and He defeated the coalition alone." It was Allah who defeated the coalition, and He did it alone.
