Guidance From Teman, the Holy One From Paran

The Hijrah is also prophesied in Habakkuk 3:3. It says: "God — his guidance came from Teman, and the Holy One from Mount Paran. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise." It mentions two locations, Teman and Paran. Teman, according to the J. Hastings Dictionary of the Bible, is an oasis just north of Madīnah. So Teman stands for Madīnah. Teman — it would stand for Madīnah; it is a locality just north of Madīnah. Where is Paran? Paran, or Faran, is Makkah — these are different names of Makkah, and that is according to the Bible, because the Bible states that Hājar and Ismāʿīl were left in Paran, and it is known where Hājar and Ismāʿīl were left: they were left in Makkah. So the name Faran, or Paran, or Bacca, are all different names of Makkah.

So the prophecy has God coming from Teman, which is Madīnah, and the Holy One from Mount Paran. Where did Islam spread from? Islam spread from Madīnah — it did not spread from Makkah. When Rasūlullāh (peace be upon him) was making daʿwah in Makkah, Islam was contained; the message was not spreading, and the number of people who adopted it were very few. Rasūlullāh (peace be upon him) left Makkah because of the restrictions placed on him — he was not allowed to preach the message. So the religion of Islam spread from Madīnah; that is when Islam went all over the world. So God came from Teman, meaning the guidance of Allah came from Madīnah. But then the verse goes on to say, "The Holy One came from Paran" — so the Holy One, who is Muhammad (peace be upon him), came from Makkah, and his glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise. Muhammad's name means "praised," and the earth today is full of his praise — this cannot fit anyone more than Muhammad (peace be upon him), because there is not a single person in history who is praised more than he is. So this prophecy fits the Hijrah exactly: Muhammad (peace be upon him) making Hijrah from Makkah to Madīnah, his religion spreading from Madīnah, and the world full of the praise of Muhammad (peace be upon him).
