A Gathering of Dhikr

The sixth reason: studying is ʿibādah. This is not done to entertain — this is ʿibādah. There is ajr, there is reward, in studying this. This is worship of Allah (swt), coming together and studying the life of Muhammad (peace be upon him). Such a gathering is a ḥalaqah of dhikr, a circle of remembrance; coming together and talking about Muhammad (peace be upon him) is worship of Allah (swt). A gathering of this kind is expected to be surrounded by angels, in which Allah (swt) showers His mercy and tranquility, and mentions it in a gathering better than itself. So it is ʿibādah.

Allah (swt) says: qul in kuntum tuḥibbūna Allāha fa-ttabiʿūnī yuḥbibkum Allāhu wa yaghfir lakum dhunūbakum wa Allāhu ghafūrun raḥīm. Allah (swt) says: if you do love Allah, follow me — meaning follow Muhammad (peace be upon him) — Allah will love you and forgive you your sins, for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
