Forgive Me and My Brother

Mūsā accepted that apology, and he accepted the justification of Hārūn.

So Mūsā said: O my Lord, forgive me and my brother, and include us both in Your mercy, because You are the Most Merciful of those who show mercy. Mūsā had a very soft and merciful heart. Even though he was in a moment of anger — he was very angry, and he was grabbing his brother by his beard and by his head — immediately, when he saw that his brother was on the right side, he started making duʿāʾ for himself and his brother.

And this shows the love of following the truth. It is not stubbornness. We do not follow our desires; we follow the ḥaqq wherever it is. In the beginning, Mūsā thought this was a mistake, so he came to stop it; and then, when the explanation was given to him, he knew that his brother had been doing the right thing, so he immediately made duʿāʾ for his brother.
