Sight, Hearing and the Vision in Jannah

Point 38 states that we cannot ascribe any human qualities to Allah. Why, then, are seeing and hearing not interpreted, since these are also human qualities? If raḥmah has to be reinterpreted, why are sight and hearing not interpreted?

What this seems to be asking is: if Allah is different from everything, then how is it that we have sight, and Allah has sight as well? The thing is that Allah's sight, His hearing and His knowledge are way beyond the knowledge and hearing and sight, et cetera, of anybody else. This is His creation, and in order for us to function, He has given us these qualities at this really basic level, so that we are able to function and realise this life. So this is something that Allah (swt) gave us. Allah (swt)'s sight, and all of His qualities, and His ṣifāt and His attributes, are unique and one, and way beyond everything else.

That is why it is made very clear, when speaking about the sight of Allah, that His sight is unique, in the sense that it is not in need of instruments or implements or direction or light or whatever. We have to have our eyes open, and be facing in a particular direction, with enough light, and so on and so forth.

Sūrat al-Qiyāmah raises a further question. There Allah says that some faces will be aglow, gazing at their Lord. Does this mean that we will be seeing Allah on the Day of Judgement, as well as in Jannah?

There are some narrations which speak about this occurring on the Day of Judgement: that they will see Allah, and then they will recognise Him, and those that recognise Him will then go to Paradise. There is some discussion about that, but that is a possibility.

Will we, then, see Allah in Jannah? There are the statements that we cannot conceive Allah; but then in Jannah the veil will lower, and it is said that we will see Him.

Yes: in Paradise there will be a vision that will be provided to the believers. The believers will be blessed with this type of vision, as has been mentioned over and over again.
